How to read a parimutuel betting ticket

How to place a bet:

State the name of the track, the race (if it's not the next race), the amount to be wagered, the kind of wager and the horse(s). For example:
"At Marquis Downs, give me $2 to win on the six horse."
Or: "At Churchill Downs, in the seventh race, a $1 trifecta box: 3-4-6-9."
Or: "A $2 Daily Double part-wheel: 4 with 3-6-8-9.

Betting etiquette: Don't slow down the betting lines and prevent others from getting their wagers in. That means having your decision made and your money ready when you go to the betting windows.

Betting options:

The minimum wager is $2, with $1 boxes available for exactas, trifectas and Pick Threes. The minimum wagering age is 19. Bets available:

WIN: The horse must finish first for the bettor to collect the payoff.
PLACE: The horse must finish first or second for the bettor to collect the payoff.
SHOW: The horse must finish first, second or third for the bettor to collect the payoff.
DAILY DOUBLE: The bettor must select the winners of the first two races.
